25 Great Date Ideas / My Top Fave Dates

I have never been much of a homebody. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I do like to cuddle up to my sweet cat with a huge cup of tea, and a good book and time alone…. But a vast majority of the time I'd rather be out. I like to do new things, I like to make memories, I like to have fun! I enjoy productivity. With that being said, I will share some of my all-time favorite dates (and some date ideas) with you. I hope you guys like it! I would love to hear which ideas you'd most like to steal, and all about your favorite dates! I am always looking for new fun ideas, so please share!

1 - Picnic
I looove lovee picnics! They will always be one of my favorites. They are super easy, you can pack food if you're on a budget, or pick up food to-go at you favorite place, if you're rushed on time….you can fish and listen to music or read, or even swim and lay out if you're by a lake. picnics are nearly effortless, yet so much fun! My favorite spot is Wes Watkins lake! I discovered this place after getting my senior pictures taken here! It is seriously so pretty.. so here are some pics!

Meet my boyfriend Jase btw… He is by far the coolest man you'll ever meet (and he loves Jesus a lot), and I owe him credit for half of these date ideas… (also if you're reading this Jase I'm sorry if you don't approve of any of these photos 😳).

2 - Drive-in movies
This one is different.. and I'm sorry if you don't have a drive-in theater near you because it is literally the coolest date ever.
I have one about 20-30 minutes from my house.. and if you live around the OKC area you should definitely check it out! Its called Winchester Drive-In! It's been around since 1954 and is sooo cute! Also, its only $6 a person! We saw Maleficent, but then ended up staying after for the movie blended (didn't even cost extra).
It was my idea to go, but Jase made it extra special by surprising me with flowers, and my favorite candy. He is a keeper for sure!

3 - Christmas Lights
This was a first for me, but something I definitely want to make a tradition of… Jase took me to get coffee…we talked and talked for hours, then drove around nice neighbor hoods (stopping to take pics at any of the really cool houses) and talking for hours more. For sure one of my more memorable dates, and also another cheap one. :)

4 - Formal dates
So fun! Especially a good one for special occasions like birthdays, or anniversaries… Prom was the highlight of my high school years, and I love dressing up! I thought I'd never really get to anything formal again after I graduated… but this year for my 20th birthday, Jase surprised me with a date to the Vast! He did drop hints that he was taking me somewhere nice, so I got to shop around for a dress. After much hunting, I ended up falling for a a gorgeous backless black dress by Keep Sake which I then ordered from Revolve Clothing. I paired them with my classic Gianni Bini "Anna peep toe pumps" from Dillards in nude, size 6. I really like these because they go with so many things and they're also so comfy! They're no longer avalible from Dillards, but if you shop google you can find them. They also come in black, white and silver! This can be a pricier date, for both - so budget, plan, and save up!

5 - Tattoos
This is for the wilder people out there… as a bday gift, Jase bought me a tattoo (also an expensive date)! We were sad because he was supposed to get one too but it fell through the day of. I chose…..
"μακάριος" (mak•ar'•ee•os)
The word has a lot of family significance, but the meaning is:

Happy; Blessed; the state of one who has become a partaker of God; to experience the the fullness of God.

It's greek and I still love it just as much as I did the day I got it!

Glad Jase was there to hold my hand though, because ribcage tattoos are definitely not the most pleasant.

6 - Gun range
Also a first for me. Jase took me to Camo Corner's gun range. Guns kind of scare me…but it did end up being really fun, especially when I actually hit the target!

7 - Zoo date
Here's a cheap one! This one is most fun when the weather is nice. When Jase and I went it was 90 degrees, and I was struggling to be a good sport (which I hate to admit that ever happened, but I'll be honest, Jase would testify too). I don't really enjoy walking around when its super hot outside, but everything added made it a fun date! Mostly because I could go anywhere with Jase and it would be way fun! I guess the real secret to a fun date is who you go with. Regardless, if you live in Oklahoma the OKC Zoo here is awesome! they are constantly adding more exhibits and re-doing old ones. Devon funded the elephant exhibit and it was still under construction when we went, but was looking awesome! My all time favorite exhibit is of course the cats…it's a known fact that I love cats, also the exhibit is indoors and has AC, so it makes a heaven for any cat lover. :)

8 - Pizookie date
First off, if you're unsure of what that is, or have never had one I would advise you do abort this blog and go to BJ's right now and have one! It's a pizza-cookie, or really, a super soft cookie served hot in a round tin pan with melting ice cream. They are really amazing! Jase and I will go anytime we're near a BJ's.. they have one in Norman, Edmond, and in OKC by the outlet mall. My flavor of choice is the Cookies 'N Creme.
Here I am below embarrassed because Jase kept trying to take pictures of me with the flash on in the middle of the restaurant…. hahaha
Below that, is me celebrating my birthday at BJ's (I celebrate it too many times, I know) with Jase, and some friends!

9 - Sporting events
I have never been a huge sports fanatic but I have been to a couple games with Jase and I really did enjoy it! He took me to Bedlam for (I think) our second or third date! It was seriously so cold, there were times I thought I'd die…Luckily I had Jase to keep me warm…and club level seats so we actually watched from inside half of the time.
In the spring we got to go to one of Macy's (Jase's sister) soccer tournaments. This was especially fun for me because I played soccer all four years of high school, so it's a sport (probably the only sport) that I throughly understand! Also I love Macy, and she's a great soccer player too, so it was a win-win situation.

10 - Concerts/Music Festivals
If you can handle the crazy crowds, concerts or music festivals can be so fun, and aren't too terribly expensive the majority of the time! We experienced our first Calf-fry ever this year at tumble weed! It was different than dates we usually go on, but never the less, I liked it! I will say I skipped out on the actual "calf-fry" though and went with a corn dog instead. Sorry Jase (I think it's still a sore subject for him - he really wanted me to try it)!

11 - Bowling
This would typically seem like a given one, but somehow Jase is the first boyfriend I've ever gotten to bowl with. I feel like it gets forgotten about too easily, so it makes my list! It's more fun in a group, and cheaper that way anyways, so we'll normally go with both my brothers. I will beat them all using my mad bowling skills, it's a great time.

12 - Lazy dates
Last but not least, some of the best dates are the lazy, and maybe even unplanned ones. One I liked was when a blizzard hit while I was in Stillwater, and I got snowed in. We watched movies and the walking dead all night, and ventured out for coffee in the morning. Honestly, watching movies and lounging around always makes for a great date.
I must say though, if you are planning to get snowed-in, don't forget make-up and clothes and stuff because I didn't get to bring any… and so I didn't get to wear makeup the next day (bad bad bad mistake) and I had to borrow a shirt from Jase which looked good since I'm a small, and he's a large. I would definitely not mind getting snowed in again, but hopefully if theres a next time, I'll be prepared.

On my rough draft list for future dates I have:

13 - star gazing
14 - pedicures
17 -river canoeing
18 - cliff jumping
20 - rock climbing
23 - yoga
25 - putt-putt

Bring on all the dates to come! Time with you, is time well spent. You are so much fun Jase Depperschmidt!

Halo Hair Extensions! ♡

Ever since high school, when I purchased my first pair, I have LOVED extensions! I have tried all kinds of different ones, and the ones I have not tried, I've probably done for a client at hair school. Below I will compare some differences between a few kinds I have had recently, and share my take on Halo Hair Extension! What makes a white girl happier than some new weave? ;)

I started with clip-ins, and to be 100% honest they're my go-to. You really can't go wrong with clip-ins, especially if you're a noob to the whole extension boat! Yes, it's annoying to put them in, and take them out, plus you can't swim with them….but for most people they blend wondrously and I love that you can wear them in a pony-tail (my inner-gym-rat speaking).
I have worn clip-ins off and on, probably for the last 3 years of my life. Here are 2 pictures, with 2 different pairs of extensions, and both styled differently. You can tell that even with them straight (right) they blend so well, my hair looks  way thicker! I typically spend around $130 for a good quality set of 18" clip-ins. I get mine from Sally's, and I believe they're 90 grams!
And to give you a better idea, here is what my hair looked like at that time without them in!

This March, I decided to give micro-beads a try. I bought 100 18" pieces, spent about $150 (also Sally's), they blended great, and my favorite thing about them was that I could sleep and swim in them! I immediately regretted getting the 18" ones, because I hadn't realized how much my natural hair had actually grown. It did give my hair so much body though!
Here's a closer look at the beads, not my head, but on a client I did.

Soooo, when choosing my Halo, I decided on 20" for sure! The one I bought was 160 grams of hair (almost twice as much hair as my clip-ins) and $190! Although this is a lot more money than I've ever spent on extensions, I am taking into consideration how much hair I got, and I feel like I got my money's worth. Being that much hair, they are heavier than most, and also pretty hot to wear all day. The great thing though, since they're on a halo, the weight of the extensions is completely on your head. Unlike any other extension, is does not put any weight on your natural hair, making them way better for you, and giving your natural hair a real chance to grow! It takes me less than a minute to put my halo on, and taking it off is just as easy!
Directly below is me with my extension-less, all natural, almost long, but not quite long enough, hair.
It was free shipping and arrived in only 2 days!
I went with the golden blonde color, and used all my hair school knowledge to ombre them myself!

I am super happy with the turnout!

Back from Brazil!

Meet my mom! Aliete (or Tuca) Ogle. It has been a long week for my mom, but with lots of prayers she has managed. Her mom, dad, and uncle passed away a little over a week ago in a car accident near her hometown, Registro, Brazil. My mom flew down along with my aunt Acsa the next day to help with arrangements. With my grandparents and great uncle's deaths being so sudden, it was very hard on my mom. My family has been so blessed by all who have been praying for us, and by the many people from CRBC (my parents home church) who have been stopping by and bringing us food while she was away.
Today, she is back from Brazil. I honestly thought I could manage being cooped up in a house with 3 boys (my dad, and 2 younger brothers) but it was honestly a lot harder than expected! I am SOO thankful to have you back mom! We all are! We love you immensely!

If You have not already seen it on my Instagram (@alliogle) here is a picture of Caleb, my youngest brother, my mom (in the middle), and me (on the end) getting snow cones at Tasty Snow in MWC after church at frontline downtown this evening!

Im sporting my newest Steve Madden heart throb, the "Sparta" in black!
Mine are black, size 6, but they also come in "platinum leather"! I do almost wish i had gone up half a size and went with a 6.5, I find they do run a little snug in the back toward the heel area. They are $99.95 on their web, but totally worth it! The link below will take you directly to them.
On the other hand, this Mossimo tie waist romper, from Target (your favorite) was only $19.99! I have had this romper for only one weekend and am already in love with it! Mine is a size small, I like that it has a baggy fit! It is seriously so perfect! It's comfortable, and can easily be dressed up or down. To make things better it even comes in 4 different colors! Again here's another link:

I'm also wearing Fossil's Natalie Chronograph Watch (JR1383), and a pearl necklace from Vanessa Mooney!

I would have normally gone with a different watch but I'm pretty sure this one has been on for about the whole weekend! I love it! whoops!

Thanks for reading my first blog post ever! I'd love to hear your questions and comments below!
xoxo, Alli
